/ Denis Novitskiy

He was born in 1980 in Aktyubinsk (Kazakhstan) and got involved in music at the age of 9 when started to learn to play the piano in a musical school. In 1994 he was invited to a brass band to play the tuba. Since then he has been closely connected to the brass performance.

 

In 1996 he finished musical school (piano) and entered Orenburg musical college named after L. and M. Rostropovich, the brass and percussion department (tuba). In the 2nd year he moved to the trombone class.

 

In 2000 he entered Saratov Conservatory named after L.V. Sobinov to study tuba in the class of Honoured Art Worker of the Russian Federation, Professor B.G. Manzhora.

 

In 1998–2000 Mr. Novitskiy took part in a municipal brass band ‘Orenburg’.

 

In 2001–2003 he played in the Academic symphonic orchestra of Saratov Regional Philharmonic named after A. Schnittke.

 

In 2009 he was invited to Brandt Brass Ensemble as a soloist where he has been working till present.

 

In different years he attended master-classes of the following musicians: R. Bobo, G. Bird, M. Hoevs, M. Massong, and others.

 

Worked with the following conductors: E. Serov, Yu. Kochnev, D. Fisher, B. Ecklund, S. Shenett, and others.

 

Went on tour in: Germany, Spain, South Korea, and Kazakhstan.
