Brandt Brass won the Grand-Prize and the special prize for keeping and developing traditions of brass playing school in “The brass ensemble” nomination at the 2nd International Trumpet Competition named after V.I.Shchyolokov.

The 2nd International Trumpet and Brass Ensemble Competition took place in Yekaterinburg in December 2-7, 2007. The competition is named after Vyacheslav Shchyolokov – a gifted performer, a talented composer and an outstanding teacher of trumpet playing. His ten concert for a trumpet and the orchestra, numerous plays, special exercises and etudes included in the “Progressive study of Trumpet Playing” enriched greatly the trumpeters repertoire.
The 1st International Trumpet Competition took place for the first time in 2004 and was held in memory of the 100th anniversary of V. I. Shchyolikov. Many performers the mastery schools of Germany, China and such Russian cities as Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Saratov, Krasnodar and etc.
This year the competition has two nominations: “The solo skill” and “The brass ensemble”.
Traditionally the competition programme includes concerts, master classes, a conference concerning the topical questions of brass instruments.
