/ Vyacheslav Sidorov

He was born in 1963 in Yaramor village (Mari El Republic) and got involved in music at the age of 12 in a boarding school for gifted children in Yoshkar-Ola.

 

In 1978–1982 he was studying in Yoshkar-Ola musical college in the class of A.M. Orekhov (French horn). In 1982 he entered Saratov Conservatory in the class of a docent A.T. Serdyuk, and began to work in Saratov Opera and Ballet Theatre as well. 

 

In 1993 Mr. Sidorov was invited to Saratov Philharmonic to play in the brass wind quintet ‘Saratov-Brass’.

 

Since 1995 he has been an orchestra soloist of Saratov Opera and Ballet Theatre, and since 2002 a concertmaster of the same orchestra.

 

In 2003 he was invited to Brandt Brass Ensemble where he has been working till present.

 

In 2009–2012 he has been a soloist of the French horns group in the symphonic orchestra of Saratov Philharmonic.

 

In different years he attended master-classes of the following musicians: A. Shilkloper, W. Gaag, A. Skobelev, V. Margolin, B. Ecklund, M. Hoevs, Yu. Akimkin, and others.

 

Laureate of the following competitions: 

- Ekaterinburg, 2007, 2nd International Trumpet Players Competition in honour of V.I. Schiolokov, Brandt Brass Ensemble, Grand Prix, special prize ‘For keeping and development of traditions of brass wind instruments playing’.

 

Worked with the following conductors: V. Gergiev, F. Mansurov, R. Matsov, E. Serov, Yu. Kochnev, V. Verbitskiy, A. Skulskiy, A. Rudin, V. Altschuler, V. Ponkin, W. Rener, Lin Tao, A. Levin, M. Tatarnikov, E. Dyadyura, M. Annamamedov, and others.

 

Went on tour in: France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Finland, South Korea, Thailand, and Kazakhstan
